Locket's Meadow

Locket's Meadow Farm Animal Sanctuary is the most magical place I've ever been in my life. Literally.

To even attempt to describe this refuge in my own words would be an insult, so here's their direct statement:

"The mission of Locket’s Meadow is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for abused or neglected domesticated animals, and those facing slaughter. An integral part of our mission is to educate people on the unique and pragmatic partnership humans have with domesticated animals. Very often we take in the most fragile or complex animals in need – the most unwanted whose last hope is Locket’s Meadow.  Whether it’s an elderly horse requiring regular treatment for arthritis, a paralyzed lamb, or a pig that has seizures requiring regular medication, we believe that every animal deserves a chance to live in a loving home for the rest of their days. Founded in 2000, over the years Locket’s Meadow has saved hundreds of horses, dozens of sheep, goats, hens, roosters (many from the cock fights), dogs, cats, veal calves and more. Long before the world went wild over Esther the Wonder Pig, Locket’s Meadow had Ozzie Osboar, who weighed about 400 pounds and followed Kathleen everywhere. Later, Pig Petunia Buttercup, at 550 pounds, slept in the heated mudroom every night, tucked in with multiple blankets and comforters."

We're figuring things out as they go since I joined in February. The goal is to gain a significant following on social media platforms, which will ideally lead to some sort of sponsorship/income to go towards the care of the animals.

On another note, we've just established a YouTube quite recently. Once everything with fundraising and weather calms down, I'm going to be filming and piecing together each individual animals' rescue stories. Right now, Cheyenne's story is on YouTube, and so is an intro video for the farm. I plan on focusing on this aspect more and more as time goes on. These animals deserve to have their stories out there, and I believe the universe put me here to help do just that. I hope that you follow our journey, and give these animals the love, attention, and support they so deeply deserve.
